Privacy policy

JDO Systems Inc. (“JDO Systems”, “we”, “I”) is a software consultancy incorporated in Ontario, Canada. This policy covers jdosystems.com. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Jordan Prada is responsible for privacy at JDO Systems and is the person to contact with any question or request.

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company (optional), project type, budget range (optional) and your message. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in that email.

We use this information only to read and reply to your inquiry and, if we end up working together, to plan that work. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or rent personal information.

When you browse the site, our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We use this only in aggregate, never to identify you.

We rely on a small number of providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. It also provides Turnstile, the check on the contact form that keeps out bots without image puzzles, and Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or cross-site tracking. Cloudflare privacy policy
• Resend delivers contact-form submissions to our inbox by email. Resend privacy policy

These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We choose providers that commit to protecting it.

We don't use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics, so there's no cookie banner. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people and bots apart; it isn't used to follow you around the web.

• Inquiries are kept in our email for up to 24 months after our last conversation, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as Canadian tax and business law requires, typically six years.
• Delivery logs held by Resend and security logs held by Cloudflare are kept for a limited period under their own retention policies.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email hello@jdosystems.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The site is served only over HTTPS. Form submissions are encrypted in transit, and access to inquiries is limited to the people at JDO Systems who need it to reply.
